Mark Wilson, early 1969 Just getting started in Army Pilot Training at Fort Stewart, Georgia. Photo was taken by WOC classmate, Bob Zook. I took one of Bob too.

This photo was taken about 2am in our 73rd Company messhall. My TO (Sensor Operator) and I had just completed flying our mission in either Vietnam or Cambodia.
Our messhall was open 24 hours since we flew missions around the clock. It was customary for a Pilot and his TO to get something to eat in the messhall after completing a mission. If it was other than a regular meal time, the meal would have to be an omelette. Although the messhall cooks would cook pretty much any omelette we requested, they would sometimes let me cook the omelettes for my TO and me. In this photo, I had just cooked two omelettes. My TO took the photo.

Richard Waldo and I met at the 90th Replacement in Long Bien, both going home on the same day. Richard and I attended preflight together at Ft. Wolters and then he went on to fly Huey’s. As you can see in this photo, he was another cool Warrant Officer Pilot ready to go home after completing a rigorous tour in Vietnam.
Neil Halsmer, another cool 73rd Warrant Officer Pilot took over my hooch when I went home. The sign on my hooch said, “Closed Every Sunday”…funny, huh? Neil was cool and calm — very nice to serve with…
John Bosch — a very cool Mohawk TO, 73rd SAC Vietnam

Mark Wilson – “This photo was taken by a 73rd SAC repair technician preparing to launch a maintenance flight test. My 226 regular missions were all flown at night.”
